Can I log motorcycle or scooter miles in Kilevo?
Yes: Kilevo logs the miles of a two-wheeler like those of a car. Under My vehicles, the Type field offers Car, Moto and Moped, and each vehicle keeps its own trips and its own miles in your mileage log.
- Choose Moto for a motorcycle or a scooter, Moped for a small two-wheeler.
- Set the Fuel and enter a whole number in Taxed power: in the United States this figure does not change the amount.
- Click Save. The rate applied is the one of the trip type, Business or Charitable, the same per mile as for a car.
Whatever the vehicle, each trip is recorded with its date, purpose, origin, destination and miles, which is the record the IRS expects for any deduction. The IRS publishes the standard mileage rate for cars, vans, pickups and panel trucks; for a motorcycle used for business, ask your tax professional which method applies to you. The mileage log Kilevo keeps serves either way.
Do you alternate between car and scooter depending on the day? Register both and change the Vehicle field on the trips concerned: each vehicle keeps its own miles, visible in the calculation details.
