What is the IRS standard mileage rate for 2026?
The IRS standard mileage rate for 2026 is 72.5 cents per mile for business driving, up 2.5 cents from 70 cents in 2025. Kilevo applies it as published, and the pages of the site read exactly the same figure as the calculation engine.
Two rates matter in Kilevo, one per trip type:
Business: 72.5 cents per mile. Drive 9,200 business miles in 2026 and your mileage reimbursement is 9,200 × $0.725 = $6,670.
Charitable: 14 cents per mile, for driving done for a qualified charity. This rate is set by statute, which is why it never moves.
There is one rate per mile and nothing else: no brackets by annual distance, no engine power, no separate table by vehicle. The business rate applies to gasoline, diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles alike, and to the first mile of the year as well as the last.
You have nothing to enter: the rate is kept up to date in Kilevo. Each trip carries its type, Business or Charitable, and the year's rate is applied to its miles. The full table, with the 2025 rates for comparison, is on the IRS standard mileage rate 2026 page.
The standard mileage rate already covers gas, insurance, maintenance, repairs and depreciation; only tolls and parking are deductible on top, as related expenses attached to the trip.
