How do I exclude a personal trip from my mileage log?
One click on the green Counted badge of a trip is enough to exclude a personal trip from your mileage reimbursement. The trip stays in the list, grayed out, but its miles no longer count.
- In Trips, find the card of the personal appointment.
- Click the Counted badge, to the right of the distance.
- The badge switches to Excluded and the distance is replaced by a dash: the counter and the PDF mileage log leave it out.
To sort several appointments at once, check the boxes of the cards concerned, then click Exclude in the bar that appears above the list. The trip details also offer an Exclude trip button.
Your choice holds until you change it: a calendar sync never puts an excluded trip back into the calculation. A birthday or a dentist appointment stays excluded, month after month. The drive between home and your regular workplace is personal too, whatever the distance: see business miles vs commuting.
