How do I switch Kilevo to US miles and the IRS rate?
The reference country changes in one click in the settings, and the change applies at once to the counter, the currency, the distance unit and the PDF mileage log. Every new account starts on France, so an American user makes this change once, on day one.
- Open Settings from the bottom bar or the header of My Trips.
- At the bottom of the panel, under Reference country for scales, choose the country in the list: United States, France or Netherlands.
- The choice is saved immediately. The counter and the calculation details are recomputed with the rate of the chosen country.
With United States, distances switch to miles and amounts to dollars, at the IRS standard mileage rates; each trip gets a type, business (Business) or charitable (Charitable), which you can change in the trip details.
Your trips, vehicles and addresses do not move when you change country: only the rate applied changes, and you can switch back at any time.
The rate applies to the whole year on screen. If you moved country during the year, check with the IRS or your accountant under which rules to file before exporting the PDF.
