Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we actually get, without the detour.

Import and sync

How does a calendar event become a trip?

Kilevo reads the event's location and creates a trip from your default address to that location, as a round trip. The event title becomes the trip's business purpose.

Are events without a location imported?

No. With no location there is no distance to compute, so the event is skipped.

Does Kilevo sync automatically?

Yes, every night, on a paid plan. On the free plan you trigger it from the app. Either way you can run it again at any time.

Can I correct an imported trip?

Yes. The vehicle, the start, the destination and the purpose you correct are locked: a later sync will not overwrite them. The distance is always recomputed from the addresses.

Can I catch up on a past year?

Yes. You pick an import start date, for instance January 1 of last year, and Kilevo pulls in the past events.

What happens to personal trips?

They are imported like any other, and you exclude them with one click. They stay visible but no longer count.

Which calendars are supported?

Google Calendar and Outlook, through a direct connection. Apple Calendar and business software, through an ICS URL.

If you would rather keep the log by hand, our free mileage log template carries the four things the IRS asks for.

Calculation and compliance

How are distances calculated?

Through Google Maps, between your start address and the event location. You can always override a distance by hand.

Can Kilevo modify my calendar?

No. The permissions requested are read-only, at Google and at Microsoft alike.

The 2026 IRS mileage rate page lists every rate, and the calculator applies them without an account.

Does Kilevo guarantee I will survive an audit?

No software can promise that. Kilevo produces a dated log carrying, for each trip, the start, the destination, the mileage, the business purpose and the rate applied. That is what the IRS asks for. Whether the trips are truthful remains up to you.

Privacy

Can Kilevo modify my calendar?

No. The permissions requested are read-only, at Google and at Microsoft alike.

Does Kilevo read the attendees of my meetings?

No. Neither the attendees nor the event description are stored. The detail is on the security and privacy page.

Pricing

What does Kilevo cost?

The free plan covers 5 trips a month, with no credit card. Paid plans are billed annually, starting at €69.

Is there a free trial?

None is needed: the free plan never expires. Trips recorded beyond the monthly limit are kept and folded back in if you subscribe.

Which countries are supported?

The United States, France and the Netherlands, each with its own official rate.

Every plan is laid out on the pricing page.
